These sterile sponges, made from porcine gelatin, are intended for use as absorbable hemostatic pads to control bleeding. Their porous structure gives them a high absorption capacity, being able to absorb up to 35 times their weight in biological fluids.
Their hemostatic action is based on the agglutination of platelets at the site of hemorrhage, thus triggering the activation of the coagulation cascade and promoting the formation of coagulum.
Instructions for use
Apply to the cavity where hemostasis is required and apply a dressing.
Units should be handled with sterilized forceps or scissors.
